Artificial Trees As Props For Elf On The Shelf

Why Artificial Trees Are the Perfect Props for Your Elf on the Shelf Adventures

For the past several years, the Elf on the Shelf has been a huge hit for kids throughout the world. Kids look forward to their elf showing up at their home and all the antics that the elves get into throughout the Christmas season. However, many parents find themselves getting burned out on coming up with new and interesting ways in which they can display the elf throughout their home. In fact, many parents start to really hate the idea of the Elf on the Shelf after several weeks of waking early to make sure they move the elf and the like.

That is why we have compiled some ways that you can use your artificial trees as props with your elves to create some new ideas that the kids will love. And you will find that most of these are super easy to do, so you are not adding a ton of stress to your plate either!

The Benefits of Using Artificial Trees as Elf on the Shelf Props

  1. Let your elf toilet paper your artificial trees. You don’t have to go wild with toilet paper everywhere. All you have to do is a few rounds around the artificial trees to make it look like the elf decided you needed more garland — of the toilet paper kind!
  2. Take some bows that you would normally use for presents and stick these on the ends of the branches of your artificial trees. It is super fast, and it makes it look like your elf was helping to add a little more decor to your tree.
  3. Have your elf arrive with his legs sticking out of the tree as though he did a crash landing directly into the tree. If you have used decor on your tree that he blends with, this makes it even better as you are going to have your kids play a real-life Finding Waldo type of moment.
  4. Everyone knows that elves love candy, so why not have your elf stick candy canes throughout your artificial trees and the rest of the room, then the kids can collect these for a sweet treat.
  5. Tie the end of string to the top of your tree, then extend this toward the wall to make it look like your elf started his own zip line with the artificial trees.
  6. For a fun laugh, have your elf stick some of the kids underwear on the tree as if the elf was confused and thought their underwear were ornaments and belonged on the tree.
  7. If you are having to get onto your young kids about playing with the artificial trees, then be sure that you roll the elf up in a napkin and stick them on the branch as though they are tied up. You can then put a note beside it that the elf is telling the kids not to touch the tree or there will be consequences. It is funny, but it may keep little hands from wanting to touch every ornament on the tree.
